The Zimin Institute for Engineering Solutions Advancing Better Lives at Tel Aviv University held an appreciation ceremony to celebrate six years of impactful activity. The event saw the participation of leaders from the Zimin Foundation, representatives from the Zimin Institute at Tel Aviv University, and researchers who have received grants over the years.
Established under the visionary leadership of the late TAU Honorary Doctor Dmitry B. Zimin, the Zimin Institute stands as a testament to his remarkable contributions to academia, business, and philanthropy. With a strong focus on fostering scientific breakthroughs that make a tangible difference, the Institute actively supports research in medicine, digital health technologies, brain studies, healthy aging, and related disciplines. Each year, it awards $100,000 grants to promising initiatives led by TAU researchers, bridging the gap between theoretical research and practical application, and ensuring that the finest scientific projects contribute significantly to the betterment of our world. In alignment with Dr. Zimin’s enduring legacy, the Zimin Institute remains dedicated to transforming innovative ideas into impactful realities.
The ceremony commenced with words of blessing from:
- Prof. Dan Peer, Vice President for Research and Development at Tel Aviv University
- Prof. David Mendlovic, Head of Zimin Institute
- Mr. Boris Zimin, President of Zimin Foundation
- Dr. Mark Shmulevich, Head of Zimin Institutes
Following the opening remarks, that emphasized the uniqueness of Zimin projects in combining state of the art research activity with high level of implementation, three fascinating lectures were presented. The theme of the lectures dealt with the next stage after the research stage activity:
